New Designers

New Designers

Just a quick note to remind anyone who is interested in seeing up-and-coming designers from all aspects of design, including textiles, furniture, fashion, jewellery, and so much more, that New Designers 2011 will be showcasing from Wednesday 29th June until Saturday 2nd July, and again from Wednesday 6th July until Saturday 9th July.
My university will be exhibiting in week one (29th-2nd) so pelase come down and revel in the future of British design.

Pretty Things

I decided, in the spirit of sharing pretty things, that I would post some more pictures of things that I have aquired over the past few years. Both designers/artists are from the Scilly Isles; Vickie Heanie is based on St. Mary's, and Richard Pearce on St. Martin's. Both are very talented and I treasure the pieces that I own.

I thought I'd share with you some of my lovely birthday treats from various people :)
Some of these were given to me by my Mum, who I must get my love of handmade gorgeous things from, and the Anthropologie pieces I bought myself on behalf of my boyfriend because I had a 15% off voucher to use in store thanks to the Anthro club, which I strongly recommend for anyone who covets their products to look into as it is FREE and you get all sorts of benefits like birthday vouchers and free one-off events like wine tasting (which was fascinating and delicious, just so you know). I wanted to show these to gage an idea of what people think about them really. They are the result of many months of drawing, photographing and sewing. Lots of sewing! I'm rather happy with how they turned out, I just hope those marking my work think they were worth the time and effort!
